Chuck Roberts
Attorney
WHAT CHUCK DOES AT WORK
Chuck’s law practice includes both family law and business litigation. Equally at home in divorce court as he is in front of a jury protecting his clients’ rights, Chuck thrives on the challenges which arise from doing both kinds of work.
Chuck represents successful people from all walks of life. Business owners, medical doctors, lawyers, engineers, accountants, sports figures, individuals with off-shore interests, officers and directors of public corporations and the spouses of each all receive competent, assertive, individualized and responsive representation.
Chuck is proud of his Fellowship in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. American Academy Fellows are widely recognized by domestic relations judges and lawyers as preeminent family law practitioners with the highest level of knowledge, skill and integrity. Chuck has also earned Fellowship in the highly selective International Academy of Family Lawyers. Only about one of every 3,000 Illinois attorneys has achieved IAFL Fellowship. Clients with offshore interests benefit greatly from the vast resources available to IAFL Fellows.
There is no substitute for preparation, and Chuck spends a considerable portion of each day meeting with clients and staff. Availability to clients is crucial: every client has Chuck’s cell phone number and email address. "When the police are on their way to your home at 3:00 a.m. because your soon to be former spouse is behaving badly and you don’t know what to do, finding out that your lawyer is unreachable and the office is closed isn’t of much value." We each strive to be available to you when you need us – not just when it’s convenient for us.
WHAT CHUCK DID BEFORE THE PRACTICE OF LAW
Chuck grew up in Naperville, Illinois and did his undergraduate work at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. An engineer by trade, he worked in Dearborn, Michigan at Ford Motor Company as an engine engineer in the seventies and later graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1983. Chuck is admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court and is a member of the Federal Trial Bar in Chicago.
WHAT CHUCK DOES OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE
Snowmobiling during the winter and time on the water during the summer are a few of Chuck’s favorite ways to spend down time. Recently recognized by the Illinois Supreme Court for his many years of service to the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, Chuck continues as a frequent speaker to other lawyers on topics of ethics, professionalism and Guardian ad Litem issues.
CHUCK DOES NOT DO THIS ALONE
Chuck’s wife Linda is a registered dietician who owns and operates her own consulting business. Their family includes four lawyers, one paralegal, a television news producer and two grandchildren. The future is bright for the Roberts clan.
